It's the time of the year again!

It's the Geminid Meteor Shower!!!

I've saw it once few years ago, and I did it again.

This time, I manage to see more than I expected. Indeed my best night of my life, able to see more in a night.

According to Earthsky, the peak hour for Geminid Meteor is between 13th night til 14th dawn. At my area, during that time was cloudy and drizzled a little. Moreover, I was too busy for my assignment submission, I stayed up all night doing it. I did went out from the house to check the sky, but it was cloudy. It's the monsoon season, and I'm not that surprise if it rains at night.

As for today, I just looked up to the sky, surprisingly it was so clear!

I could more stars today as well. The Orion Constellation which also known as the hunter is the most obvious in the sky. I was mesmerized by the beauty of the night. really 아름다운 밤, a beautiful night. This reminds me of the same name song by a Korean Group, Beast. Now, the song is stuck in my head.

As I was smiling away looking at the stars, then I came to see few streaks of meteors, it was quite fast. I was happy, that I'm able to see it. Then I just waited, then I saw one, a slower and brighter with whoosh sound, seeing it, leaving a trail with the sound and then, it burst, n gone. That's the 2nd most memorable one I've ever seen because this is considered the 1st time I see a clear and slower in speed, at home. The 1st of course, I saw it when I was in a plane, flying from Sabah back to KL. AWESOME!!

Greed came in, and I wanna see more, and I did. I'm truly blessed that I could see it clearly.

Then I remembered, reading somewhere that we could see the Orion Nebulae along the 'sword' of the the Hunter. I went and took a binoculars, and I'm more than happy that I could see the blurry image of the Nebulae. I mean, I could see it is the Nebulae. I'm so happy because the sky is soooo clear. I think this is considered clearest compared to other nights.

Sky at night

I just went out to try my luck to look for meteor again, well, the peak time has gone, it's pretty hard to see one now.

However, today's sky is clearer than days before and I could see more stars.

The best thing is, I used binoculars to see those stars. I could see so many stars, small and big ones.

There're always these 3 bright stars shine in a straight line. The whole year, we can see it, then now I realized it's actually part of the famous constellation, The Orion or The Hunter. I went to searched for an image in Google, and then went out to check on it with my binoculars. I manage to find the whole Orion. I feel so proud and happy. LOL.

The 3 bright stars in a row actually is the belt or waist of The Hunter. Early of the night, these 3 stars are in line facing in a direction, then few hours later, it rotated, well, the Earth rotates.

I'm gonna check other constellation around it from the image I've got.

Now my neck hurts. I've been straining it for few days, today its pretty more hurt than before.

It's really amazing for me to find the correct constellation and to know what kind of stars are those. Yes, I do love Astronomy. I wanna learn more, sometimes I'm just lazy. HEHE..

And I know I've been repeating this, I really want to own a TELESCOPE!!!

Meteor Shower 2.2

Last nyt, I waited outside my house, I saw one, actually few, but i didn't really see it directly. hehe. I was practically feedin mosquito. TSK TSK TSK. Even using mosquito repellent doesn't help.

Today, I watched the sky, it's cloudy, but, the cloud are disappearing slowly. I slowly looked around the sky, north, south, east and west, all angle, still a bit cloudy.

I was praying for lettin me to see at least one, then I'll come back in. I keep lookin everywhere.

Saw some sad cloud. U know, using imagination, u can see shapes on the cloud. I see several faces, its pretty sad and angry faces.

Mosquito everywhere, but not as much as last nyt.

Then, I saw ONE!! DIRECTLY!! VERY CLEAR, flew past between the cloud, where the sky is much clearer. It's very very clear, I at last got to see one very very clear. It's slightly Green-ish, flew from north to south direction. I didn't use binoculars at all!

I finally got to see ONE today! I'm so happy ^^

Then sin came, greed. I want to see more, however I can't see but I saw angry faces, then I just left. I understood, askin me to continue my assignment. LOL. Still am happy.

I wish I can have a telescope, then I can see much clearer and those stars.

Meteor Shower 2

I just read the newspaper that there's another meteor shower this coming sunday night in Malaysia!

WOOHOO!

According to the paper, it says that USM's Astronomy and Atmospheric Science Research Unit lecturer, the annual shower would be visible in the night sky to naked eye in any direction.

Oh ya, its called Geminid meteor shower. It occurs every year between DEC 9 and 19, and its peak is on DEC 13 and 14. * Get ready to strain the neck up to the sky*

I wish so much to own a telescope!

I love star gazing. I love astronomy. However, my physics sucks. Can't pursue in Astronomy course.

Can't wait, maybe I'll start to look to the sky tonight. Getting ready with my binoculars. Strain my neck again. AIGOO.

Leonid Meteor Shower 2009

I stayed up all night, just to watch meteor shower.

Due to the condition of the weather, I only went out around 3.30 am to look at the sky. It was still cloudy, but the cloud has made way for the stars to shine, the meteor to fall.

I've waited patiently, in my pajamas, and blanket over me, looking at the sky. Unfortunately, I've got bitten by mosquitoes. So many of them. But I still wait. Went in and out from the house, try to look for binoculars, couldn't find it.

Nevermind, went back out, and look, straining my shoulder and neck up to the sky. I know there'll be meteor, but just unsure which direction to see. I searched for clearer sky, less cloud.

I could see sparkling twinkle little stars. Cloudy yet beautiful. HEHEHE.

Then, I saw one, flew, it was very bright. I said 'YATTA' when I saw it. I am super happy right now. Greediness grew, I want to see more, and I did. I saw 2 more.

WAIT, 1 or 2. hehehe.

Now, think back again, I think I saw few before I saw the exact one. Not really in front of my eyes, but you know, eye's angles are wide, it's like, at the corner of the eyes.

HEHEHE. I think I saw a fireball. This one really like a fire ball. It's super bright. Then I thought again, it could be flash, but at this hour, who's using camera, and from the sight I had, pretty impossible. I choose to believe it's a fire ball.

Now, my shoulder and neck pretty hurts. HEHEHE. Time to sleep.

And I read that, this meteor will be continuing til 21st, its just today, is the peak time.

My next aim, buy a telescope for star gazing! I'm soo gonna own ONE! after I got money money money.
